Kill Assists - Why Different C-Bill-Rewards?

Obviously I missed something, but I wonder why there are different rewards for kill assist. Sometimes it's around 6.000 C-Bills, sometimes it's only half of that. It has nothing to do with whether you win or loose. Any explanations?

That amount should be a constant. Do you have any Picts backing up your findings? That is something that should be addressed to the DEVs IF it is confirmed as happening.

Kill and kill assists bonuses are accrued by the percentage of damage you inflected on the target. I think it was added from a few patches ago from complaints that several mechwarriors were painting targets with small lasers and not doing much in combat to get a huge payday. I do have videos of this happening from a month ago.

you get different earnings in assault and conquest mode (conquest is less).

^ This. I think these are the numbers:

Assault is 6500 for an assist and 4300 for a kill.

Conquest is 3200 for an assist and 1100 for a kill.

Component Destructions are worth 2100 in both modes (I think), and you are guaranteed to get at least one Component Destruction every time you get a kill. Thus a kill and an assist are essentially worth exactly the same in both modes (100 c-bill difference in Assault for some reason).

It's not a new thing...pretty sure it's been that way since Conquest came out. Conquest has always rewarded "just killing" less, in a failed attempt to get people to cap more often...instead of turning it into assault where your faster 'mechs split off and reduce your firepower ;)

afaik it depends on HOW you assist, means how much damage you deal on the target before it gets killed... makes sense to me

The C-bill awards have always been different between Assault and Conquest (Skirmish is the same as Assault, more or less).

Since you "gain" money through the resource nodes, you are subjected to getting proportionally less for combat. That's normal.

Only for xps. C-bill awards are fixed - you get the same c-bill reward for a kill or assist no matter how much damage you do.
